Marisa Merlin
Marisa Merlin è nata a Costa di Rovigo nel 1953. Dal 1976 vive a Padova.
Il filo conduttore della sua riflessione e che dà il senso del suo agire sia come persona che come artista, è il tema dell'ambiente e tutte le sue implicazioni. Le sue opere infatti sono le rielaborazione e reinterpretazione delle istanze ambientali e sociali, in riferimento alle conseguenze conflittuali dovute agli squilibri ecologici.
Marisa Merlin realizza i suoi lavori utilizzando una gamma diversificata di tecniche e supporti, di materiali diversi, prevalentemente di scarto, che siano comunque provenienti e significativi del luogo di installazione, e funzionali al concetti insito dell'opera.
Da diversi anni preferisce esprimersi attraverso grandi installazioni site/context-specific, con lo scopo di costruire relazioni con l'ambiente circostante e i suoi abitanti, e di coinvolgere le persone in un contrasto di emozioni a livello sia emotivo che fisico e intellettuale.
Infatti spesso le comunità locali partecipano spontaneamente al lavoro di installazione, ottenendo così un senso di appartenenza, una visione del futuro e consapevolezza delle proprie possibilità.
La pratica artistica ambientale di Marisa Merlin è accompagnata da una gamma di attività come laboratori e stages, per approfondire e lavorare sui temi toccati con uso di materiali da riutilizzare, coinvolgendo persone di tutte le età, e ogni ordine di studenti, dalla Scuola materna all'Università.
Marisa Merlin ha anche fortemente voluto coinvolgere altri artisti da tutto il mondo, per esprimersi sui temi ambientali, creando così la Rassegna Internazionale di Arte e Design Ambientale “RicCAA” (Riciclarti-CANTIERE ARTE AMBIENTALE) di cui è curatrice dal 2008.

The underlying theme of her personal and artistic reflection is the environmental issue with all its implications. It gives the meaning of her actions. Her works are the reinterpretation and the reworking of the ecological and social issues, in reference to the consequences of the environmental imbalances.
To express her poetic Marisa Merlin makes his works in a diversified range of medium, by any kind of materials, even waste and recycled, but always the most significant for the site and for the meaning of each work.
For several years she's increasingly oriented towards site/context-specific-installations, to build relations with the area, and to envolving people in emotions on different levels: emotional, physical and intellectual.
Indeed often these art installations involve spontaneously the local community to help build and install the works, giving a sense of bilonging, and a vision of the future and a mindfulness of own chances.
Marisa Merlin environmental art practice goes hand in hand with the range of activities of her workshops and Internship, in collaborative work with people of any age and with the students of any level from the Primary school to the University.
Moreover, Marisa Merlin strongly wanted to involve other international artists to expres
themselves on the issues dear to her, by creating the International Festival of Environmental Art&Design: RicCAA (Riciclarti-YARD ART ENVIRONMENTAL) of which she is curator since 2008.
